Dr. Kevin Dickey
Veterinarian/Owner

Dr. Kevin Dickey knew he wanted to devote his life to the care of animals as a very young boy. Growing up in Texarkana, Texas, he surrounded himself with a variety of animals, was active in agriculture classes and FFA, worked on local ranches and livestock auction markets, and was always looking to assist his local veterinarians.

Following graduation from the University of Arkansas in 1998 with a degree in animal science, Dr. Dickey was accepted into the veterinary medicine program at Louisiana State University. He graduated from veterinary school in 2002 and worked in mixed animal practices in Nebraska, South Dakota, and Texas. Like many veterinarians, Dr. Dickey desired to own a practice and began to search for opportunities in rural areas where livestock production was a priority. Dr. Dickey, his wife Sherri, and four sons moved to Thermopolis in 2011 to take over an existing veterinary practice started by Dr. Katrin Kolder. That clinic is now Owl Creek Veterinary Service. In 2019, Dr. Dickey purchased Dr. Bill Gould’s clinic in Meeteetse, which is now Greybull River Veterinary Service.

Dr. Dickey enjoys the never-ending variety of cases seen in rural, mixed animal practice. From small animal medical cases to lameness issues in horses to reproductive efficiency in beef cattle, he thoroughly enjoys caring for the needs of clients and their animals in the Big Horn Basin of Wyoming.

Dr. Danielle Flowers
Veterinarian

Dr. Danielle Flowers grew up in Northern Illinois in a town called Hampshire. Her dream was to be a veterinarian from a young age and continuously shadowed veterinarians throughout her life before vet school. She grew up riding and showing horses and spent most of her free time around the barn. She also grew up with a variety of animals.

In 2017 she visited Wyoming for the first time and did a pre-veterinary internship at a ranch in Meeteetse. She continued to come back to visit every summer and always knew she wanted to practice in the area one day. Dr. Flowers graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry from Aurora University in Illinois in 2018. She then went on to the University of Illinois where she obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in May of 2022. Dr. Flowers moved to Wyoming with her childhood paint horse Maverick, husky and cats in June of 2022.

Dr. Flowers enjoys the variety of cases seen in both Meeteetse and Thermopolis Wyoming. She continues to have a passion for equine cases in particular but loves all cases. She loves to hike, ride horses, fish and paint in her free time.

Whitney Burton
Veterinary Technician

Whitney has been with Owl Creek Veterinary Service since January of 2023 shortly after her and her husband moved to Thermopolis. Whitney is originally from Kansas, which is where she started down the road of veterinary medicine. She worked on a hog farm, and as a ranch manager on a goat ranch, before starting work as a veterinary technician in 2021 at the Animal Hospital in Phillipsburg, KS. Whitney is a lover of all creatures, from the hermit crab to the angus bull and everything in between. Always ready for a challenge, Whitney is constantly learning and working to expand her skills and knowledge. To this end, she is working on her degree as a veterinary technician. When she is not caring for the animals of Hot Springs County she can be found reading a good book, crocheting, or helping out at church with her husband Dan and their two dogs, cat and turtle.
